Veronica & Donovan's Story...

Never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd be given an opportunity like this. We applied on a whim honestly not expecting anything of it. Now to be selected as one of the top 10 couples is an honour. Win or lose, we'll still be together and that, for us, is the ultimate prize. From meeting and talking with the other couples, we believe each of them deserves to win and it's a shame we can't share the prize. If we are selected as the winners, it would be amazing and we would be overjoyed!

Our story....We didn't "fall in love at first sight" nor did we really expect that we would end up together. We met in high school. At the time, we were both interested in other people, but we would constantly seek each others advice. Before we knew it we had become the best of friends. Eventually we came to realize that what were looking for most we had already found in each other. Everything seemed to just fall into place. The journey it took for us to figure out that we were right for each other, definitely impacted who we are as individuals, and who we have become as a couple. How we met and how we ended up together definitely proves that somehow everything does happen for a reason.

We got engaged shortly after celebrating our 6 year anniversary. Donovan proposed at our annual staff "Festive Party". He staged it as if I had won a raffle prize. While trying to figure out how to claim my prize, Donovan began to bend down on one knee. Immediately the room was filled with cheers and applause. I automatically blurted out yes even though I couldn't hear my own proposal! So I hugged him and asked him to repeat what he had just said and soon after the "happy" tears began to fall. Thankfully he had organized to capture this memorable moment on video. It was definitely a night we will never forget!

A little bit about us....Donovan is currently a 1st year student teacher and attends the University of Calgary. I would describe him as a fun- loving and kind hearted person who goes above and beyond what is expected of him on a daily basis. He does go out of his way to help others and constantly puts my needs in front of his own; a quality I admire most about him. I work full time as a Medical Assistant and even though some days are harder than others, I always look forward to spending time with him. It seems like we always know just what to say or what to do to make each other fall in love all over again. However, we also know which buttons to push to drive each other crazy but regardless of the situation, or our moods, we continually show each other that we care. We believe that hugs are essential as there is no greater feeling. And we also follow one rule; we never go to bed angry because you just never know.

We are ready and eager to take the next step in our relationship. We are both very fond of children and hope to have our own some day. Our wedding would symbolize and celebrate our love for each other and officially allow us to grow together as a couple. We feel that our lives following our wedding means more to us like saving our money for our family, a home, and everything else in between. Winning the Vibe 98-5 $98,000 Dream Wedding would be a true blessing and would help us prepare for our future dreams. We are not perfect, nobody is, but we are indeed perfect for each other.
