Natasha and Ryan's Story...

This talented couple has been together for almost 3 years. Sparks flew for Natasha and Ryan as they were both sharing the stage at Ryan's rap video shoot: Ryan pulled Natasha up on the stage and started to rap to her, and dance with her. Ryan told his band mates afterwards that she was the woman for him. They didn't hook up that night, but they saw each other a year later when Ryan was selling cell phones. They were flirting so much that Natasha bought a phone off him, and made the last 4 digits of her phone number 7926, which spells out Ryan. It is then when they hooked up.

Both of them work for telecommunications companies (which are competitors) in the day and when they have free-time they perform at night. Natasha is a professional dancer (who has occasionally worked for the Decidedly Jazz), and Ryan is a rapper/producer, who has worked with Kids Help Phone as an artist ambassador, The Funk Brothers (who have invented the Motown sound), Matthew Perry and Martha Reeves, and now may have the opportunity to work with Canadian artist K-OS.

Ryan and Natasha's marriage proposal was very public. Ryan surprised Natasha by showing up at the airport when she was coming back from Barbados. He had asked his friend Henry Yu to play one of Natasha's favourite songs on the guitar: Blackbird written by the Beatles. Ryan proposed to Natasha in front of all of people in the Calgary Airport, while Henry was playing. Tasha (also pregnant at the time) could not believe what was happening to her, balled her eyes out. Natasha and Ryan spend a lot of time helping the community, so much that Ryan has won a Calgary Stampede Legacy Award for changing the lives of Calgary youth. Ryan was once a troubled teen, but with the help of his community, he was able to take his energy and talent and turn his life around. He now takes great pride in giving back to the community that changed his life. Natasha is also no stranger to troubled times, though Natasha's life was very fruitful, Natasha was raised in Africa, which has now given her the belief that nothing should be taken for granted.

If asked why they need to win this contest, they have many reasons, but one reason that means the most to them, is the fact that, Natasha is giving birth to a new human-being. They believe that a strong family can only exist if the two parents love each other, and secondly, that they are married. There are too many examples of people in Natasha and Ryan's community, where the father and mother don't stay together. The Ryan and Natasha want to set a good example, for young parents; there are too many kids that grow up in single parent homes. They can be summarized as a couple who are the new generation, but they have traditional values.

In conclusion, they believe that in this economy, your community is the element to your success. They are very blessed that their community has given them an opportunity to express their love, forever.
