Heather & Daniel's Story...

Dan and I met playing poker online for fun on MSN Gaming Zone. I, for one, never play poker, but fate decided to have a little "online fun". Dan, who is an avid poker player rarely plays for fun, it is usually for money. The game is organized and randomly selects 9 people per table out of a pool of thousands and places them together. The only reason for the mishap is fate. With beginners luck I took all of Dan's ‘play' money and kicked him out of the table. Being the poker star he is, Dan got annoyed at the fact that he was beat! He had a bunch to say about that, and I had a bunch to reply to. After 10 minutes or so of this back and forth bickering it became humorous and for some reason we added each other to MSN. That night we must have chatted until the early hours of the morning and did the same for months. Dan was amazing from the beginning. He called me every morning from work just to say "Good Morning", and he still does, but adds "Good Morning Beautiful". After several months of IM'ing, webcaming and various late night phone calls, we had to meet each other so Dan decided to take a vacation from Ottawa, to Calgary.

The moment we met in person, it was like we had known each other for years and we could not bear the idea of Dan going back to Ottawa and not seeing each other for a long period of time (or possibly never again) so Dan quit his job, and left his life in Ottawa to spend it with me here in Calgary. His family mailed all his stuff out to us, and our life together began.

Dan and I have spent every single day together since he got off that plane 3 years ago and have not been apart from each other for more than a couple of days. He is truly my best friend/soul mate & true lover, and I could never bare the thought without him. On July 31st 2008 Dan proposed to me which was the most romantic day of my life and I am happy to say that I am marrying my true Prince Charming.

We have been roommates, best friends, boyfriend/girlfriend since day 1 and now fiancés, and we cannot wait to be husband/wife. Dan and I are truly meant to be together. I belief this because we have beaten the odds most couples face with 1) Meeting online thousands of miles away and 2) Living together since the moment we met. Anyone who knows us knows this is true. We have a unique sense of humor that many would define as wacky...

Currently Dan is an IT professional and I am a Nursing Student set to graduate in May. Not only would this be the most amazing graduation present ever, it would be the most amazing wedding to start the most amazing life together as husband and wife.
